Q: How can I tell if my screens are applicable for refurbishment service/top glass repair?

A: In order for your screens/devices to be applicable for refurbishment service/top glass repair they must be original Apple/Samsung and have a fully functioning LCD screen & touch. This means there should be no lines, blocks, touch issues, black spots, yellowing or pixels on the display. If you are unsure if a screen will be accepted for the service please email us with a photo and we’ll advise further.

Please note we cannot refurbish non-original screens from third-party manufacturers. However, we are able to refurbish displays that have previously been refurbished.

Q: Do I need to test my screens before shipment?

A: No, our team of specialists will test all your screens in-house and you will be provided with a full testing report. However, we suggest you take care when removing working LCDs from phones during repairs and store them in bubble bags, separate to non-working LCDs. This would make the process much more efficient for both of us!

If you’re sending a complete device for top glass repair please DO check it thoroughly to ensure the LCD & touch are fully functioning and the phone is applicable for the service.

Q: What if I don't know how to tell the difference between a copy and an original?
A: No worries, our experts are trained in spotting the difference between copies and originals. We’ll let you know if there are any copies in the testing report and return them to you with your refurbs or discard of them if so requested.
Q: Can you refurbish screens with LCD burn/back image?
A: Yes! However, the LCD burn will remain after the refurbishment process.
Q: I would like to use your refurbishment service but am looking to send complete handset devices, not just screens. Is this possible?

A: Yes, you can send us complete handset devices for top glass repair. Please see the form you should include in your parcel here. Please note: there is a £10 fitting charge per device.

Q: Do you sell full unit LCD screen displays?
A: Yes, we sell original Apple and Samsung LCD displays that have been refurbished in-house. We also provide a fitting service for most models. Get in touch for more info an up-to-date price list.
Q: How can I find out about your prices?
A: Send through an email to refurb@lcdkingsy.com and we’ll happily respond with our latest trade price list.
Q: Do you buy phones/screens?

A: At the moment we do not buy full handsets. We do buy original Apple/Samsung broken glass screens with fully working LCD & touch. For a discussion about selling screens to us please email us at refurb@lcdkingsy.com.

Q: I’m not based in the UK, am I still able to use your services?
A: Yes, you can post your screens/devices to us from anywhere in the world. When shipping good our way please use a fully tracked, signed and insured delivery method.
Q: Will my screens be refurbished or swapped for LCDs which have already been refurbished?
A: To speed up the process of your order we will often replace your screens with original screens which have already been refurbished by us. However, we’d be more than happy to refurbish and send back the exact screens you provide us with, if so requested (though this may cause delays).
Q: What happens if you break one of the screens I send for refurbishment?
A: We provide a 100% guarantee that you will receive back all fully-working LCD screens sent to us, (those which pass our tests) in fully-refurbished condition. This means that any damages incurred during the refurbishment process will be covered by us (apart from in the case of ‘B Grade’ screens).

Individual Repairs

Q: How do I know if my phone requires a "glass only" or "glass & LCD" repair?
A: If your phone is applicable for a “glass only” repair the internal LCD screen on your device will be unaffected by the external damage on the glass and function as normal. There’ll be no spots, lines or touch issues with the display. If this is not the case, and you can’t use your device because of any of the above issues, then you’ll need a “glass & LCD” repair.
Q: Do I need to book a repair?
A: It depends. We offer a walk-in service for most models, meaning you can pop in to our shop anytime during our opening hours. Most screen repairs can be carried out in under an hour, though more time may be needed for complicated repairs. Please get in touch with us to find out if your repair requires a booking.
Q: I would like to use your postal service. How can I go about doing this?
A: Please follow the step-by-step instructions provided here. Please don’t forget to include a postal repair form with your device. We will contact you as soon we receive your device and perform a diagnostic. Once your device is repaired you will be emailed an invoice containing payment details. Once payment is received in full your device will be posted back to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Q: Do you compensate postage costs?
A: Unfortunately we cannot compensate postage costs of any parcels sent to us.
Q: I live outside of the UK can I still send you my device for repair?
A: Yes, you can send your phone to us for repair from wherever you are! For more info on shipping costs please have a look at our terms & conditions or give us a call.
Q: What payments do you accept?
A: We accept payment via BACS, PayPal and cash on collection. For postal orders, you will be invoiced for the repair once it has been completed and your device is ready to be posted back to you.
Q: Do you repair tablets, laptops, and other brands of smart phone?
A: No, at the moment we only repair iPhone and Samsung mobile phones.
Q: Which forms of postage/couriers do you use and are postage costs covered?
A: The goods will be returned to you via Royal Mail delivery, unless otherwise agreed. If the total value of the package is under £50 you will have the option of choosing between a 1st class signed for service (2-3 working days) and Special Delivery (next day before 1pm). If the total value exceeds £50 the goods will be sent via Special Delivery, to ensure necessary insurance cover is provided.

For international orders an option between Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed and DHL Express will be provided.
Return delivery charges are NOT covered by us, unless otherwise agreed. You will be charged the cost of return delivery accordingly. Pricing will depend on quantity and value of the goods.

Q: Do you just repair screens, or can you repair other issues my phone might have?
A: Although our main focus is screen repairs we can also repair charging ports, replace batteries, cameras and more. If your phone has a problem not listed on our price list, get in touch with us and we’ll let you know if repair is available and provide you with a quote.
Q: Do I need to remove my sim card and any security details before posting?
A: We do urge you to provide details of (or remove) any passcodes/passwords securing the device sent as this means that we can fully test all device functions before and after the repair to make sure that everything is in working order. It also allows us to identify any other issues that may be present on the device. If you wish not to provide the passcode the screen fitted to your device will be fully tested on one of our own motherboards.

You do not have to remove your sim-card before sending the phone to us but can if you so wish.

Q: How long will my repair take?
A: If you use our walk-in service we will aim to carry out the repair within the hour. Bear in mind that if we do not have the required parts in stock this may take longer. Please give us a call to confirm exact time-scale for your repair.

If you are posting your device to us we will usually have the repair completed and posted back to you on the same day that we receive it in the post. However, during busy periods your repair may take us a few more days to complete.
